Why companies flounder...
In Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice, one of the characters says, “Mercy is twice blessed….” To twist the Bard’s quotation, “Mercy may be twice blessed, but the medication of management ills will be twice cursed if they are not understood.” Some companies fail once, recover, and then thrive. But others seem to fail not once, but twice, and in some cases continue to stagger from failure to failure. Why does this happen?
